************ The experience of witnessing is a perfectly normal part of growth of consciousness. The sense of seeing the body as from a distance means that the identification of oneself with the body is lessening, which is a good thing, because the truth of life is that the witness consciousness, whose nature is blissful and infinite, is only reflected by bodies depending on their purity (the more pure the nervous system, the greater the reflected consciousness). Because TMers experience growth of awareness, they are less overwhelmed by activity and the environment -- this is why they begin to feel distanced, just witnesses to the activity. This is a sign of strength, not pathology.
