Actually Bush isn't that powerful any longer; the support of the American people has dropped to 28 percent, according to the latest CBS poll. And his support in the rest of the world is no doubt even lower. World consciousness, including that of the U.S., is increasingly anti-Bush. If the U.S. had a parliamentary system, Bush would be out of power at this point. A dry drunk will take you only so far. Bush's "stinking thinking" has caught up with him because it's been recognized as such. It took too long, but there's no going back now.
