> So it would be okay to hit on followers closer to their own age? What about a female guru hitting on a male follower? Or how about if MMY had hit on someone older? Actually, it's not an age thing. It's the power disparity and my expectation, possibly invalid, that gurus, like priests and presidents, should not dishonor the office, lest they give all a bad name. I may have made the same mistakes in his position, and from my current, albeit limited perspective, I would be no less forgiving of myself. You know, Rick, instead of endlessly replaying this tape in your mind about how you were deceived and then trying to hide it behind the cloak of supposedly protecting the women, why not just bring it out and deal with what's really bothering you? MMY fooled you, he was not who you thought he was while preaching abstinence to others, and you're still super-ticked off. Deal with it and move on. Actually, I think abstinence was good for me. I'm grateful for the inspiration. I still think Maharishi was one of the most remarkable people I ever met or could ever hope to meet. But it seems he had a few screws loose, and it interests me to try to understand why, and how those loose screws have made the TM movement what it is.
