---Re: Vaj says "no Samadhi". Actually, he's parrotting his Guru, Chogyal Norbu Rinpoche, who disses "internalized" silent sitting meditation; in favor of the Dzogzen "direct cognition" approach. The problem with this is a disconnect between raw theory(incorrect suppositions on the part of Norbu and Vaj) and what people directly experience. Saying "direct cognition - no need for silent sitting meditation" is something that has to be challenged, tested, and conclusions wrung out in the light of direct experience. Vipassana/mindfulness is in the Dogzchen camp, a seeming alternative to silent, sitting meditation. One is free to say anything desired, but if somebody makes a claim, say "drink Ganges water and you will be Enlightened in one hour", this claim has to be tested in the light of direct experience. In short, Norbu/Vaj's Dogzchen/mindfulness can't hold a candle to TM; and Vaj in some immature perverse manner is dissing a truly great technique that Norbu is totally ignorant of. The Dzogchen "direct transmission" approach sounds find in theory, if one is living on Mars; but coming down to earth, where are the dozens of people Enlightened through this approach, (apart from the Tibetan Lamas who spent years in solitude)???
