I think some reasonable attention could be put on our social
programs without having to resort to charges of socialism. Anymore
than calling the expanding military/industrial complex fascism.

As a self-employed consultant I pay nearly $200/mo. for minimal
health care coverage, just for me. A decent plan is ~$400/mo. Who
can afford that? Also, the schools in California are now 49th or
something in the nation, after being ranked near the top for years,
but the funding has been gutted to the point where teachers must buy
their own supplies, and the education budget is supplemented by the
state lottery. A disgrace.

And you refer to Federal take over of pensions. Who in the private
sector gets a pension these days? I don't know one person who does.

What do you think socialism is? California schools are 49th in what?
Spending? Education is funded about 90% by the state, not the federal
government.
Stop paying for the education of wetbacks and your state problem is fixed. So
now we want a federal pension, that's socialism.
