Compare your situation to that of George W Bush, who was an alcoholic loser until he was saved by Jesus. That experience truly seemed to help get him off alcohol and improve his life. I've known a few tm teachers who also struggled with alcohol problems until they had a similar "being saved" experience with Jesus. So that experience can save a person's life if they're really struggling, but does that mean that the whole evangelical belief system is gospel truth not to be questioned?
