Congratulations, Rick, one down.

Lawson was perhaps the brightest person on this
forum. Too bad he was a TM supporter.

I'm not trying to get rid of TM supporters. I'm one myself, with
qualifications. But if you were go back and browse the archives of the
period which many would consider to be FFL's heyday, you would notice
several things:

1. Thoughtful discussions predominated.

2. There was little or no petty bickering.

3. People didn't flood the chat with vacuous posts.

4. There were more active participants. Many of these have been driven
away by points 2 & 3.

I'm not saying the AMT folks haven't contributed a lot - they have. But they
brought old grudges and sloppy posting habits with them which may have more
than counterbalanced their contributions. People needn't unsubscribe, but if
they can't voluntarily change old habits, we're going to impose some
control. I've resisted this a long time because I'm not a control freak, but
I think a majority here (including many who have left, discouraged, but
would return if things improve) support this.
