Good insight, Patrick. There is something about
the nature of selfless service that is...uh...
selfless. Focus on the welfare of others and
you take that focus away from the puny self and
its drama queen antics and its pitiful whine,
"Me! Me! Focus on me! I'm the important one
in the room, I'm the star...focus on me!" 

And then what seems to happen is that the wanabee 
starlet self, starved for attention and not find-
ing any, just gives up the quest for fame and 
stardom and packs her bags and goes back to 
Olkahoma to work as a waitress, leaving the Self 
to enjoy the bright lights of Hollywood.  :-)
