Maharishi's family and Girish in particular simply don't understand
the dynamics of the appeal of gurus and Eastern spirituality to the
West and, as such, they have and will continue to make major
irreversible mistakes which will blow up in their faces once MMY
dies. And once the dust settles, the revenue for the family
business -- cash from the West -- will simply stop.

Girish, sensing MMY's advancing age and impending passing, dresses
himself up like MMY and surrounds himself with all the MMY trappings
(e.g., the MMY-like dhoti, the Guru Dev picture behind him, the
beard, etc.) and thinks that this is what appeals to the West.
Unfortunately for him, people in the West see right through it and,
if anything, such phony attempts at show turn people right off.

It reminds me of the missteps the family of the 13-year-old Guru
Maharaj Ji make back in the '70s. The boy, who was billed as the
reincarnation of God, was, out of the blue, disowned by his own
mother who, it was then announced, appointed another son as the
reincarnation of God. Obviously, some sort of power struggle was
going on behind the scenes. Well, changing which son is God and
which isn't in mid-stream may work in India but in the West the idea
was too much for even the most embedded cultist-sucker. And their
movement ended faster than you could say "Rolls Royce Silver Shadow".

Girish and family just don't get it. His posturings appear to me as
obvious and blatant attempts at positioning himself as the guru
apparent. They are clueless at what appeals to the West and their
missteps will blow up in their faces. Their alleged treatment of the
pundits is another example.

Of course, once it does blow up, their Golden Parachute is the many
millions that they've already bilked from the West that is sitting in
the control in India.
