Actually, people with my mindset hold that it is regular people that perform miracles and, specifically, it is real Saints that go out of their way NOT to perform miracles. It is the place of Saints to TELL us that WE are the ones capable of performing miracles and that there is no distance between them and us. When a Saint performs a miracle, he/she creates a divide between them and us. It is the works of a performing seal, no more, no less. Real Saints look upon the world and its inhabitants as their equals and, in their loneliness of their enlightenment, say "come on, come on" and join me by realizing your full potential which, by definition, includes the ability to perform any and all miracles but which would be beneath my dignity to do for you because it is your dignity to do yourself. Ash-creating, pudding cooking, performing seals. Tote-board hugging is pretty much the same thing.
