What I'm talking about is that there are sects that practiced using the 
bij aksharas to meditate on.  Swami Devananda refers to them in his book 
on meditation.  The book by the early TM teacher who spent time with MMY 
in India believes he picked up these techniques from a priest in 
southern India and possibly from some texts found in a temple.  It might 
not take much to track them down.  How they were "cognized" is beside 
the point and unverifiable anyway.   I also don't think that TM is Sri 
Vidya just because Swami Brahmananda Saraswati practiced it.  That might 
be a little bit of a leap.
