The little me > > disappears and there is no me only THAT. > I can't speak from direct experience, can only tell you what my Guru says- and the above is the way enlightenment is described. I take exception with calling MMY describing cosmic ego as being usefull. Little me is ego. So maybe MMY 's way of saying an ego that dissappears is a cosmic one but his disciples are confused about this.
A recertified Governor was rattleing off what MMY says- and even this was showing confusion, the guy said MMY said there is no longer a small self in enlightenment but the ego becomes cosmic. How was this thing where MMY was not apointed by his Guru to be a Guru and also not declared enlightened by his Guru allowed to slip by? It is hard to believe that MMY never answered this. In the files section, I uploaded an audio where MMY partially answers it when asked about Guru Dev. I wonder what Bevan would say if asked about this? Sri Sri Ravi Shankar also does not appear to be apointed, so either him or his Guru were. I am sure disciples of both say it is not important or else why would they still be following them? Here is partial info off the net about Yogananada: It was during this year also that his guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar, bestowed on him India's highest spiritual title, paramahansa. Literally supreme swan (a symbol of spiritual discrimination), the title signifies one who manifests the supreme state of unbroken communion with God.
