I think MMY is bitter the 'Britishers' and 'damn democracy' (the
invaders) ruined Vedic India, this is the primary driving force behind
all his efforts!  His goal has always been and is now to regenerate
India thru its most potent influence, America and modernity in general.

Sorry Shemp, he's not here to minister to folks like you and me, he's
a *social* reformer not a personal guru. If that is the case his
bitter comments can only reflect a simple 'man' and not the 'god' many
have made him out to be. We just happened to be at the right place at
the right time to get the benefit of his experience and background. 

I think he even said it didn't take an enlightened man to give the
means to achieving enlightenment to another when he related the answer
to the question can doctors who aren't healthy heal others.....

That is my take on the motives of dear MMY.
