lots of people have said that they don't like sunday 8pm as much as
reverence. it's understandable. they're definitely different albums. i
think of reverence as having better singles (i.e. i'll put it in to listen
to a few songs), whereas sunday 8pm is just more of a laid-back,
head-nodding (or is it bobbing?) album. i also enjoy the lyrical content of
sunday 8pm quite a bit more. songs like 'bring my family back', 'hem of his
garment', and 'killer's lullaby' are a little more involved than 'if lovin'
you is wrong' or 'baseball cap'.

one good criticism that i've heard of sunday 8pm is that it's not as varied
as reverence. this is true. reverence is probably the most varied album
i've ever heard. like mikea, i'm always trying to turn people on to
faithless (and i've had a decent amount of success - it seems that when they
hear it, they like it!). when describing faithless to anyone, i can never
pigeonhole them into a single category. i always start out, "well, they're
known as a dance act, but they're so much more than that..."

songs on reverence that i'd consider favorites: salva mea, insomnia,
reverence, don't leave. favs on sunday8pm: she's my baby, postcards, why
go, hem of his garment, killer's lullaby, maybe bring my family back. also,
the radio edit/mix of take the long way home is fabulous. i guess this
doesn't prove much of a point, just that i like more songs on sunday 8pm i
guess. (why the hell doesn't anybody ever talk about 'she's my baby'? by
far my favorite song since salva mea from any band.)

i'm now in danger of having diarrhea of the email, but one more thing. i
hate to say it, but 'god is a dj' is one of my least favorite tracks. it is
not anywhere close to 'salva mea', but i don't know if anything ever will
be. :) very over-hyped, very "well, i guess it's time to put an epic house
track on this album, too". it's probably because of this that i don't like
it. plus, whenever i listen to it, i'm always reminded of crystal waters'
'100% pure love' for some reason...

btw, does anyone know anything about "testimony chapter one"? it's listed
at cdnow.com as a "holland only limited edition 5cd maxi set" for us$29.99.
never heard of it before.

thanks for reading - you must be as bored as i am. ;)
