DEAR MR 'V'
We agree with you. which is why we are launching a chart in the autumn which
will be a chart with no rules. if it sells, it will chart. the music can be
on vinyl, cd, EP, a t-shirt with chip - but so long as it sells, it will
chart.
Look out for it
Lots of love

>> - Name : Mr V
>> - EMail : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
>> - Subject : CIN Idea(s)
>> - main_message : Hello,
>>
>>PLEASE READ THIS. IT CONTAINS SOME VALUABLE IDEAS!!!
>>
>>For quite a few years already I'm a fan of Rollo (Dusted & Faithless).
>>I live in the Netherlands and also order UK cds's and vinyl.
>>I've a huge collection also with UK cds's and vinyl.
>>I've seen the 'development' of the CIN Chart-rules.
>>It may 'protect' artists and recordcompanies,
>>but customers and music lovers get ripped-off.
>>But recently I had a wonderful idea!
>>
>>Now:
>>max 3 items per single
>>max 3 tracks per item
>>max 20 min lenght per item
>>
>>And what's the result of this?
>>Artists have to Edit and mutilate their music,
>>so that the lenght of an item is less than 20 min.
>>Customers and music lovers (as me) really get pissed of that.
>>We want FULL mixes, NOT edits.
>>Everytime I buy a UK item I'm happy again
>>for having new music.
>>But everytime I've listened to it,
>>I get depressed, because the mixes on the item(s)
>>are edited.
>>
>>That you have those CIN-rules is sick, but well... I can't change that.
>>But what you can do is making people happier again,
>>by changing those rules a bit:
>>
>>That you limit the number of items to 3 -> fine
>>That you limit the number of tracks per item to 3 -> fine
>>But that you limit the max item lenght is sick:
>>THAT'S why mixes have to be edited and mutilated.
>>If you just remove THIS rule,
>>customers and music lovers will be happier again.
>>I mean: What's the need of limiting the item lenght?
>>Do people buy a cd for its lenght?
>>I don't think so.
>>I'd rather buy a good cd of 10 min,
>>then a bad cd of 74 min.
>>
>>Remove this little rule and only FULL mixes will appear on an item
>>and limit the tracks per item to three.
>>Customers and music lovers will be happier again.
>>WE DON'T like edited music.
>>THAT'S why A LOT OF people DON'T buy (or hardly buy) UK items anymore!
>>Just because of the edited and mutilated mixes.
>>I do that too. I'd rather wait for the Australian Edition with 6 FULL
>>mixes!
>>
>>-----
>>
>>One less important idea.
>>
>>For example:
>>Say to a record company:
>>"You may make ONE 5-tr cds
>> instead of TWO 3-tr cds's"
>>
>>(
>>01. Radio Edit
>>02. Mix 1
>>03. Mix 2
>>
>>+
>>
>>01. Radio Edit
>>02. Mix 3
>>03. Mix 4
>>
>>=
>>
>>01. Radio Edit
>>02. Mix 1
>>03. Mix 2
>>04. Mix 3
>>05. Mix 4
>>)
>>
>>We as customers have to pay twice as much money for singles then in the
>>past.
>>And living outside the UK makes it already harder to get those cds's,
>>and now I often can only get one part :-((
>>And THIS is really NOT necessary!
>>
>>-----
>>
>>Please, please take this in consideration!
>>It would make me and other people happier again.
>>
>>Thank you,
>>
>>Yours sincerely,
>>
>>Mr V, Groningen, The Netherlands
>>
>>P.S. Don't you think it's strange that the UK is the ONLY country on this
>>planet who has such silly rules?
