My opinions on "We Come 1"...

Radio edit: nothing special. The rap is a little too 'freeform' for my
liking, sounds like it was hardly recorded with the rest of the track in
mind.

Rollo & Sister Bliss mix: best of the lot, but a bit too proud of
itself- spends too long in the 'anthemic breakdown'-type sections and
not enough time actually kicking. Also, there's a dodgy double-bass drum
sound near the end of the track which sounds *terrible* (so bad I've
started skipping that bit of the track).

Dave Clarke mix: Terrible. Normally I quite like Dave Clarke remixes;
his Christopher Just and Mirwais mixes is strong stuff and his Leftfield
mix did exactly what was needed. This, however, doesn't do the job; in
one of those genres where something either works or it doesn't and there
isn't any compromise, I don't think this works.

Wookie mix: Not as bad as I was led to believe it was going to be,
actually... the best treatment of Maxi Jazz's rap out of all the tracks,
including the radio edit, in my opinion. A fair-enough little groove,
enough drum quirks to remain interesting. A little flat, but listenable.

Rocket vs Jeno mix: also flat. Effected dub-house for those who don't
like to get too excited on the dancefloor. Nothing outstanding.

All of which adds to my already-held opinion that while Faithless are
good at several things, commissioning good sets of remixes is not one of
them.

Stuart.
