Nice to get your opinions on the album! Here's Mine:

>
> Donny X- This is a nice way to start the album. I
> always like the way they find to tie the albums in
> some way together. This one, carrying lyrics from
> Reverence. Not as good as The Garden, but nice.

I think this is an ok intro track, nothing more, nothing less.

> Not Enuff Love- Brilliant Brilliant. If I was the one
> deciding which singles got released, this one would be
> first. I love the lyrics, its catchy, and the chorus
> sticks well in your head. This is my early favorite.

Totally agree with you here. This is one of the definite top tracks of
the slbum. The lyrics are apparently sampled from "Sympathy" by Steve
Rowland and Family Dog. The mix with those lyrics and Maxi's rap is
superb! Very good words too, to my understanding it says you should be
happy with what you've got. As Maxi says, "there's money in my pocket
and my clothes are clean."

> We Come 1- I dont know, its alright, Its pretty good
> to move to, I dont think its the signature track of
> this album at all, which they may try to promote it
> as.

We've all heard this one by now. It's pretty good, but far from the
other "first singles" from Faithless!

> Crazy English Summer- Beautiful tune by our new female
> vocalist, its very pretty. I love her voice, kind of
> aristocratic. It fits in well. But, I do wish it was
> just a little longer.

Agreed. Zoe Johnston is a brilliant singer. The lyrics are very nice,
about how the crazy English summers always makes Zoe think of "you."
Track clocks in at 2:43, which is a shame, yes.

> Muhammed Ali- Its definately a departure style, its
> not like any other Faithless track. The lyrics tell a
> good tale of the man. After a few more listens I
> should get used to it.

Lyrics are nice. No doubt Maxi is a big Ali fan, and no doubt who Maxi
got his inspiration and self-confidence from when he was younger!

> Machines R Us- Alright, this blows. It is the
> equivalent of a long drum solo. A 3 minute track that
> plays like its 10. It repeats, but never builds into
> anything. This may be the weakest track (that wasnt a
> remix) that they have put out. I wonder if this might
> still get cut off before the official album comes out.

Actually, I think this song is ok. Sure, its very repititive as you say,
and people who don't like that kind of music will hate "Machines R Us."
To me, this sound very Kraftwerk-inspired?!

> One Step Too Far- Is it just me, or does Dido sing
> 5000 times better with Faithless, than when shes
> working solo? In this tune, she really lets it go and
> sings to her potential, which makes for a lovely
> track.

It's not just you. (-: Dido makes a very good effort on this track, but
it still isn't one of my favorite on the album.

> Tarantula- I would make this the signature dance track
> of this album over We Come 1, Its got a good rythem
> and builds up into a good track.
>

Yeah, this is probably the best dance track on the album. Not as good as
the older Faithless anthems, but still a nice song with a good beat.
Maybe one of the remixes will be even better?

> Giving Myself Away- More powerful lyrics, Maxi at his
> best here. Easy to relate to, and very well written.
> Much like Killer's Lullaby from the album previous.

My absolute favorite track on the disc. Very down-beat, but with great
rap and lyrics from Maxi. I'm not sure what to say about this track,
more than that it's absolutely faboulous!

> Code- A nice small filler track, ala "Sunday 8PM".

Not much to say about this one, more or less an interlude. The album
would have worked just as good without "Code," if you ask me.

> Evergreen- More beauty from our new vocalist. She
> could sing a shopping list and it would sound good. I
> really like her.

Not one of the best tracks. Surely Zoe is a very good singer, but that's
not enough to make it for me.

> Liontamer- Another brilliant track, and my second
> favorite so far behind "Not Enuff Love" more poetic
> mastery. Very very good. Great beat.

Yes, very good indeed. Almost a club song. This one might be released as
a single, with some "dancier" versions on it. Cool lyrics too,
"Liontamers die in pain." (-:

To sum it up, "Outrospective" is, in my humble opinion, Faithless' most
solid effort to date. It has no bad songs on it, I sort of like them
all. However, there are no outstanding,
"top-20-list-over-songs-of-all-times" candidates like Salva Mea and God
is a DJ was. Of course, all Faithless fans should run and by the album
as soon as it's released (I know I will), cause I don't think you'll be
disappointed. Looking forward to read everybody's views on the album!
