Maya,

I still don't think its FarCry causing the problem. Sure FarCry has caching
and other features that are suggested to turn on for production-ready sites,
but you shouldn't be seeing the slow issues you are having with caching off
(not on such a small site).

How about other NON-FarCry sites that are using MySQL (and not Access)?
Maybe it's MySQL that has something to do with the issues you're having.

I'm not sure if MySQL 5.x is officially supported yet in FarCry (I'm not a
MySQL user, so I couldn't offer much help on that).

What version of CF are you using? What version of Connector/J are you
using?

On Adobe's website it says to use version 3.1.10 instead of 3.1.11 due to a
bug in the newer driver
(http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=6ef0253), however
the MySQL website offers a newer version than both of those (currently
version 3.1.13). I'm not sure, but it may have the fix to the bug found in
3.1.11. Or if you try it and are still having issues, perhaps try using
3.1.10 like Adobe suggests and see if the error goes away. These are just
some ideas. The newer driver can be found here
(http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/j/3.1.html). Other Connector/J
drivers can be found here (http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/).

Also, I'm not sure if the JDBC drivers that come with CF have any effect on
the way CF talks to MySQL, but if you're interested there are newer versions
of the JDBC driver (version 3.5) for CF 6.1-7.0.1 (not sure if it covers
CF7.0.2). They can be found here [use at your own risk, and backup old
drivers just in case]

Finally, if you want to know what current version of the JDBC driver you're
using with CF there are some helpful instructions found here
(http://carehart.org/blog/client/index.cfm/2006/8/8/checking_jdbc_driver_ver
sion).
