You may want to just create a custom displayTeaser.cfm file for the dmNews type and have the link go to the news page to display that news story. Of course you will have to create a custom display page for the dmNews type as well.

I think you can do it by passing NavID in the URL with the object ID of the nav node you want hilighted. eg APPLICATION.navid.news if you have given the news nav node and alia of news

    Hello all

My website main top level navigation is as follows:-

    Welcome
    About Us
    News
    Contact us

Within my site design, at the bottom of every page, I have
reflection/shared container which points to a news item.

When I click on the [go] link within the teaser text of that
    container,
it displays the page, but I also want the main navigation 'new' button
to be highlighted. At the moment, when I click on the [go] button
within the teaser text, the 'Welcome' button is the ones thats
    highlighted.

How can I make the link from the teaser [go] link highlight the 'News'
    button instead?

    Any help much appreciated

    Regards
    B
