The actual saving is handled by the core (setData()). However, it takes a parameter (a struct) w/ keys that match the properties of the object. So even though you added a new property, you can still use the default implementation of setData(), which is in the core. Basically, copy the dmNav folder out of core into your directory, customize it, and override the edit function.
