I am curious what people out there use for development and production environments and how you do a switch when a site goes live. What I have traditionally done is connected a dev site to a production database. That way once the content is entered on the dev site, I can move the code to the production server, change a few config options and I’m done. This has worked fine for a while but I am finding more and more that when plugging in external applications, it may be wise to separate development and production even further.
I was just looking for thoughts from others out there to give ideas.
