Usually you can do this using your _genericNav module. Here's a sample:

Essentially, this is saying "build me a 2 level navigation with ID "nav"
starting with the "Home" node. What I do a lot of times is set up a 1 or 2
level navigation on the top and then add a side nav. The side nav can be
built much the same way:
<cfmodule
template="/farcry/#application.applicationname#/webskin/includes/_genericNav
.cfm"
navID="#request.navid#"
id="sideNav"
depth="1"
bActive="true"
bIncludeHome="false">
Notice this is saying "give me a 1 level navigation starting from the
current node (request.navid) and do not include the home node
(bIncludeHome=false)."

OK,
Now that I am starting to get the hang of FarCry, I will have more
questions.
So I put together the basic pages of the district site. Now since I have
17 main areas, the top navigation is getting very cluttered. What I want
to do is move the navigation to the left like all of the sub pages I
have. How do I do this? I goggled the user group and get a LOT of hits
on navigation. I got to page 20 and decided email might work quicker.
