Well, I've decided to move to using the 3.0.1 release, since I can't get the WDDX issue resolved. I tried several more experiments with non-farcry coldfusion code and accessing the dmWizard.data field. I could use both WDDX2CFML and CFML2WDDX with no errors, so I'm really baffled as to what the underlying issue is. Thanks for those who offered help. If anyone has any further suggestions I'd love to hear them.
