The drupal guide may not be very useful for starting out on
development however my point is that they do have one. It is a
starting point for all users. Nowadays, almost everything comes with a
user manual or a "F1" key in the case of software so users can get
quick responses before calling tech support, hitting the forums, faqs
or pursuing other avenues to get their questions answered. So to
answer your question, I would say that a "getting started guide"
should have the equivalent of items that you would find in any user
manual. I know that is a broad response so here is a better example
just to draw a more vivid picture. I scoured more on the web and came
across Sava, another cold fusion CMS software. I have not installed
it, used it or know how it stacks up in terms of functionality
however they have a positive documentation outline ...http://
docs.gosava.com/go/v5/quick-start-tutorials/ ...They have a user guide
and a developer guide, they have basic things like adding a page,
adding a video, basic information on their GUIs ...

Anyway it looks like you have some tips and documentation on FarCry
3.0 user guide. The version 4 page say that it is being overhauled.
The documentation on version 3 is random as well, it would be nice to
have all contributions compiled into a pdf and split into user and or
developer guide sections.
