Hi Chris, Thanks for your comments.
At this stage of my journey into FC I can accept that as the Dev I'll setup the basic structure of the site. My concern is that if, later down the line, the authors want to add a new section that will require, say, a news master/detail facility that will they have to come to me to set it up or will they be able to do it themselves? I've seen the term categories on several of the FC admin pages but haven't found any doc's on what they mean and how they are used. Maybe one for later... dickbob On Mar 30, 7:50 pm, Chris Kent <[email protected]> wrote: > Mr Dick Bob, > > What you should do, as the developer, is to configure the site, > containers and publishing rules to allow the content creators to just > enter the content and let Farcry and your configuration do the rest. > > Your clients (content creators) should not need to change the > publishing rules once they have been setup. > > Have a look at assigning categories to content items and also using > categories to target content items within publishing rules. > > Chris. > > On Mar 30, 7:32 pm, dickbob <[email protected]> wrote: > > > Thanks for your time Marco... > > > So, by "create news item" you mean Webtop > Content > News > Add > > > I can see the "hiding rules" at the bottom of the screen and have > > added the item.
