The reality is that vanilla FarCry updates are pretty seamless.

You will need to go:
4 -> 5.0 -> 5.1 -> 5.2 -> 6.0 -> 6.1 -> 6.2

You may get away with skipping some steps.  Easiest way to do it is
set up Subversion for your `core` and just switch to each relevant
tagged build, restart the application, check COAPI tools for potential
schema changes to deploy and switch again.  Make sure you don't have a
server request timeout in place that might truncate a longer running
update process.

Unfortunately, if you have a lot of customisations then you may have a
more bumpy ride.  It really depends on the nature of those changes.

For example, 4.x supports older, deprecated formats for 3.x edit
handlers -- later versions of FarCry do not.  If you still have old
3.x wizards etc, you will need to replace these completely.  Do you
have much in your ./myproject/packages/types folder?
