Hi, is it possible to change the language for the verity search. If you
change des language in the Coldfusion Administrator, no results are shown.
When you change the language in the collection, in the source, no results
are shown. Anyone knows a solution?
I think the problem here is number formatting. The standard search page for FarCry doesn't use locale formatting. These are the steps I took to getting verity searching in German.
1. Downloaded the language packs from http://www.macromedia.com/support/coldfusion/verity_reg/register/index.cgi
2. Modified farcry_core/ui/admin/vertiyBuild.cfm create collection tag (line 65) to use German instead of the hardcoded English.
3. Added some German content and approved the objects
3. Created the collections by clicking on: - "admin" tab - "search" tab - "Build/Update Collections" link
4. Changed the search results page:
- Changed my locale to German <cfset newLocale = setLocale("German (Standard)")>
- Changed the percentage score results code (about line 108) to be #LSNumberFormat(LSParseNumber(score)*100)#%
instead of
#NumberFormat(score*100)#%
All worked well (see image attached)
Obviously we need to build these locale details into FarCry and we are at the moment working out the best ways to do this (see other threads on internationisation).
