It might be of interest to you that when you are awake and at work, 
people in Australia are usually tucked up in bed.
That  might explain why you're not getting answers within minutes of 
asking the questions.

With regard to custom types, what exactly is unclear about the custom 
types walkthrough that Brendan wrote?

I follow exactly the same principles he explains in the walkthrough, and 
I don't see any reason to change.

The documentation will probably get updated when people who are using 
FarCry make clear bug reports on exactly what is wrong with it.

Really Neil, I'd have thought someone who was (and maybe still is) a 
Team Macromedia volunteer for Spectra would have a little more input in 
this forum than berating the lack of documentation and examples.
