As a general rule. You should *never*, repeat *never*, need to modify farcry_core (except to correct bugs and the like). We have laboured ceaselessly to make this how the system works.


Custom types should be stored under:
[projectname]/packages/types

That way the farcry_core system code knows where to look for them.

On that note... display handlers used to extend farcry_core content types should always be stored under:
[projectname]/webskin/[typename]


Also, when will the documentation get updated to reflect what seems to be
inconsitencies with them and the latest release?

The only inconsistency that I'm aware of is the change in custom admin XML file. For the moment you should check the beta note.. and/or check the new XML file format in farcry_app. It's a minor change to the format, but it allows us to have as many parent custom tabs as required.
