Cule, thx.
At the moment, I'm just trying to get it running on a development
machine: XP Pro, Apache 2 and MySQL. I'm trying to figure out exactly
how the mappings need to be configured (to be honest, I found the
installation instructions unclear). I added this to the httpd.conf file:
<VirtualHost *>
ServerName farcry
DocumentRoot "D:\Development\FarCry\farcry_core\admin"
</VirtualHost>
<VirtualHost *>
ServerName fairbanks
DocumentRoot "D:\Web sites\Fairbanks\Development\Web Root"
Alias /farcry "D:\Development\FarCry\fairbanks\www"
</VirtualHost>
I figured that would display the FarCry web site (is there a main
web-based admin site for it?) via http://farcry/ and then edit FarCry
content for the Fairbanks web site via http://fairbanks/farcry/
fairbanks and farcry have been added to the hosts file and point to
127.0.0.1
In the FarCry setup screen, I entered:
Site Name fairbanks
Installation DSN farcry
DB Type MySQL
DB Owner
Application Mapping /
FarCry Admin Mapping /farcry
The installation seemed to go ok, but when you click the buttons at the
foot of http://farcry/install/index.cfm, "Login to FarCry" redirects to
http://farcry/farcry which throws a 404 Not Found and the "View Site"
button looks as though it's trying to open http://farcry, but redirects
to http://farcry/farcry/login.cfm?returnUrl=%2Findex%2Ecfm%3F, which
also throws a 404.
When I installed it yesterday, http://fairbanks/farcry/ displayed a
nicely formatted page with a heading "farcry - content management" and
some clouds but with no apparent means of adding content. Today, after a
second install attempt, it appears to display the same content but
without any formatting (bad ref to .css file?).
I'm pretty sure it's just due to me either not setting up the virtual
hosts or alias in Apache correctly, or not entering the right settings
in the install screen, but does anyone know what needs changing? I'm not
really all that fussed as to how it's setup... at this point, just
getting it working would be a bonus!
Thanks :-)
