True,  but I normally just use the very capable CF Debugging window for page level vars (CGI, Cookies, Request, Session & URL). However, your method has the added benefit of being able to dump complex vars from "less persistent" scopes such as request. For my average daily Farcry development, I prefer to use  a mix of Farcry Admin and CF Debugging. If I need something more, I just put a <dump> inline. But that's just me!

True, but there is an advantage in making a dump page as well because you see the scopes just as the website pages see them, which is much different to the admin pages.
