Hey Lucas - Agreed. I'd like to think there was some kind of logical rationale behind using createUUID in the first place but I'll be damned if i can think what it is now :P Will commit changes as per your suggestion which sounds good to me.

so what is the point of the lock?
my guess is that this should be the OID of the object that you are creating an archive of, so that you can not make two archive objects at the same time of the same object.
