I agree custom publishing rules are much more flexible but I still think a simple parameter passing mechanism might have its use.
A simple example, let's say we have a site with multiple editors responsible
for different parts of a site. This site has a simple 'Contact Me' form
which is an Include Object. It would be nice to let editors add this Include
Object anywhere within their section and then add their email address as a
parameter.
For the moment this could be achieved by extending them dmInclude object. Add a parameters property, modify edit handler to show input for the params, and then your dmInclude displayHandler can do what it likes with it as it is returned as part of the stObj structure.
If people think it's a worthwile addition we can make it a core property.
