Yeah thanks - in the process of debugging an attempt to hit a custom type's display method from a rule, which I finally got working, I ran into this particular object instantiation exception. It may have been a fluke, but after installing spike's classes and finishing my debugging, I set fu back to 'no' and everything still worked. I suspect it was a weird error based on my own bugs.
