The farCry virtual mapping need to be e:\mysite\farcry_core\admin\
Whereas what you have now is farCry pointing to farcry_core

Are you able to set up your own virtual directories?

I've just been reviewing the install instructions and have been trying
to work out why this should have been so difficult.

If I don't have access to the root directory then, putting aside
security issues for the moment, it should be straight forward.

If my site, www.myactualdomain.com, on the shared host resides at
e:\mysite then the farcry mapping should simply be to
e:\mysite\farcry_core\admin\ which would be the same as
www.myactualdomain.com/farcry - is my understanding of this so far
correct.

few times in this forum and I've followed the threads with intensity but
have issues with deployment of Far Cry to shared hosts been resolved.
Its probably the main stumbling block for me :-)

There's no issues with shared hosts that I'm aware of (apart from the
usual security issues if they're not properly sandboxed).

I've multiple farcry sites running here on my dev box, and a site on one

of Fasthit's shared hosting accounts.
