I did start a project to convert the existing Admin Console over to a purely XML driven application. But that has been pushed down my list in preference of more pressing tasks (in regard to FarCry - e.g. getting it working on BD).
I certainly think an XML driven interface is more than possible.
Ok so how about we make a start?
The CSS should simply just be an "overriding" thing?
Yeah, I was mentioning this so it could be incorporated (as an attribute?) into the XML schema.
Not sure what you were wanting as far as passing link parameters. Once you are writing your own pages shouldn't it be possible to pass parameters when calling a URL from an admin page? And I am not sure that you would need "dynamic" parameters for tabs as they would all need a "starting" point that was parameterless. (Which probably means I didn't understand your example).
No I'm talking about specifying URL params *from* the sub-tab (i.e. for the <link> element in customadmin.xml).
While this *is* possible by copying and customising customadmin.cfm I think that's overkill just to pass a param to the admin page.
