I'm trying to find a good HTML editor for FarCry. XHTML is needed and an MS Word cleaner would be nice. Another issue is a lot of my users are not exactly computer savvy. What editors do you use/recommend?
Where in the same boat.. always looking for a better WYSIWYG editor that doesn't cost a fortune. We need spelling too -- though maybe we need to add this as a generic farcry feature??
Here are the ones I'm checking out just now:
KHTML (lite and pro versions ~100US per site) http://www.interakt.ro/products/KTML/
XSTANDARD lite and pro -- per user license :( http://xstandard.com/
HardcoreInternet (~50US per website) http://editor.hardcoreinternet.co.uk/
I mean if someone would just produce a decent editor that doesn't do FONT tags and allows for CSS style elements I'd be a happy camper.
As far as the open source distribution is concerned, we need something that is open source (with a compatible license), and works in more than just IE. Spike has gone a fair way to adding HTMLArea support... so expect that in the HEAD shortly. Am looking forward to some better Firefox support. If HTMLArea works out we may shift to that being the default editor -- jury is still out.
