Hi Geoff,

The settings were fine - same as the dev box at all levels (service, file
and web server). Just needed to wait for a server reboot to fix thing - got
to love IIS!

She's apples now.

500 Error is pretty generic.  The old "error" to which people are 
referring is related to a CFMX issue that only happens intermittently 
and can fixed by recycling the CFMX service.

Your error appears to be slightly different.  Are you sure that the file 
paths for your server are set up correctly and that CFMX has permission 
to write files??
