If you just want to help build up the existing Aura templates contact me off list and I can talk to you about commit rights to the CVS repository.
With regard to data -- this is done as part of the installer. Potentially we could look at supplying some prebuilt database files that folks could restore rather than using the FarCry API to create new objects the hardway.
