Have you thought about using a "dmLink" under the node? The user could
simply edit the properties of the link monthly.

You might also get away with using a "Symbolic Link". A Symbolic Link
is basically a link to another Nav Alias in the Farcry tree. Have a
look at the edit screen for a dmNavigation node and expand the
"Advanced Options". The Symbolic Link option allows you to in affect
say "I want this Node to point to this this Nav Alias". The beauty
part is the Nav Alias can move and the Symbolic Link will always
follow it. Am I making sense here?

If you want to make it easy on your User then I would go with the
Symbolic link option.
