The soEditor (default) is not great as it only works in IE for
windows. Also it produces fairly crappy HTML that doesn't validate
uppercase tags etc. Sometimes if you paste in a word document it will
do some pretty crappy word HTML too.

I'm using a MAC, and firefox on the PC, so I splashed out the 300 euro
(or whatever it was) and bought eoPro. It's java and works in all
browsers that i can see... It also creates much better HTML as far as
I can see.

I guess you got a CMS for nothin', you may as well pay a few quid for
an editor. I'd recommend them.

PS the licening works ok for a limited number of users... like in an
admin site of a CMS. You just have to list to them the domains you
need. You can just email them to add/ take away a domain at any time.
