The installer and its initial data have not actually been changed in any significant degree since about version 2.0. I'm not sure I'm at all familiar with the error you are reporting -- and we support quite a number of clients and installations.
It's something we'd like to help resolve -- at least to identify if its a FarCry issue.
Can you send the exact details of you installation environment (OS, database & version, web server, CF version) and walk through the steps you use for installation? We'd like to try and replicate the install to see if we can generate the same issue locally.
