Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition Xeon 2.4Ghz, 2.39 Ghz, 1 GB RAM
Web Server: IIS 6
Database: mysql-4.1.12a-win32
CF: 7,0,0,91690

Original DataSource Connection:
Jdbc: mysql://localhost:3006/dbname
Driver Class: com.mysql.jbdc.Driver

Modified DataSource Connection:
jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/ethos?jdbcCompliantTruncation=false

Steps used to intall:

Basically, I follow that training video to the letter.
My extracted FarCry files are in D:\inetpub\applications
My website is in a sub-directory

I go to http://localhost/farcry/install/
I set the site name to be the same as the sub-directory in applications.
I choose the appropriate datasource
I choose "MySQL" as the database
I blank out the DB Owner field
I leave Application Mapping as '/' since this is the only application I
have running on this web server
I leave FarCry Admin Mapping as /farcry
I leave FarCry domain as localhost
I click the install button

In the original configuration, the system always craps out when it gets
to the stage of creating the FarCry user. That is when I see the
Truncation Error.

In the modified configuration, where I disable the throwing of
Truncation errors, the system completes the install process, but does
not properly authenticate users.

|The installer and its initial data have not actually been changed in
any
|significant degree since about version 2.0. I'm not sure I'm at all
|familiar with the error you are reporting -- and we support quite a
|number of clients and installations.
|
|It's something we'd like to help resolve -- at least to identify if its
|a FarCry issue.
|
|Can you send the exact details of you installation environment (OS,
|database & version, web server, CF version) and walk through the steps
|you use for installation? We'd like to try and replicate the install
to
|see if we can generate the same issue locally.
