Dear all,

I would like to draw your attention to an application named "Pop-Up
Dictionary" (PopDict) that can be downloaded from www.popdict.com (a
Russian site) and comes with several useful electronic dictionaries for
a variety of languages that are all available free of charge.

We have cooperated with the developer of PopDict to create a number of
dictionaries for Asian and European languages that will soon be released
together with an upcoming version of PopDict featuring full Unicode
support.

While several English-Farsi dictionaries are already available from
www.babylon.com (an Israeli site), Babylon has no plans to produce a
Unicode-compliant version of their dictionary shell. What's more, the
application is unstable in Win2K environment; its regular hangups make
it in fact unusable.

I wonder if anybody on this list would be interested in cooperating with
us to develop Unicode versions of existing electronic English-Farsi
dictionaries, and release them as freeware.

I am also looking for a good Farsi-English dictionary on the web, which
might be another gap to fill...

Best regards,
