What I am hearing is that for various reasons, the committe reached a consesus not to submit a request to the Unicode consordium, however, individuals may take the this issue to the consordium on their own. Whether the committee reconsiders its decision, or various individuals decide to start their own efforts is not going to change anything right now. So, I would like to comply with the current standard, but am not able to find the U+0654 on any of the Unicode fonts that I know which are Arial Unicode MS, Tahoma, and Microsoft San Serif. Would someone please let me know of a standard Unicode font that will provide me with such char?
Another problem that I am facing is that I have recently upgraded to IE6(version 6.0.2600.0000). Using IE6, the browser does not show all the records retrieved from the database. I read somewhere on the web that this is an IE6 bug related to using Style sheets and international chars such as those in Farsi. If I change my font selection in the style sheet to Tahoma, IE6 behaves okay, however using Arial Unicode MS is very erratic. Has anyone experienced such problems? Any suggestions? here are some of the links that reports bugs in IE6: http://www.alistapart.com/bugs.html http://www.deniswilford.com/test/ie6bug.html I would appreciate any suggestions.
