Hello again,

I'm still trying to get faust2mathdocs to work. Some progress, but still no
cake.

I decided to edit the faust2mathdoc script by replacing all instances of
"svg2pdf" with "cairosvg". I also renamed the script, and then ran it as
the original. This time the script didn't throw the "svg2pdf command not
found" error. Unfortunately, it produced all the other previous errors, and
still failed to produce satisfactory results.

Here is a list of the extant errors (I added dashes to indicate gaps
between error messages; parentheses at the end of warnings enclose my
comments):

==========================
line 118: [: =: unary operator expected
==========================
! LaTeX Error: File `supertabular.sty' not found. (I'm looking for it now.)
==========================
No file myfile.aux. (It was generated at some point -- see below.)
==========================
LaTeX Warning: No \author given.
LaTeX Warning: Reference `notice' on page 1 undefined on input line 77.
LaTeX Warning: Reference `notice' on page 1 undefined on input line 77.
(Actually was a repeated warning message!)
LaTeX Warning: Reference `figure1' on page 1 undefined on input line 102.
LaTeX Warning: Reference `figure1' on page 1 undefined on input line 102.
(Another repeated warning message!)
! LaTeX Error: File `../svg/svg-01/process' not found. (It can't seem to
see the /svg/svg-01 folder that was created by the script -- see below.)
==========================
LaTeX Warning: There were undefined references.
LaTeX Warning: Label(s) may have changed. Rerun to get cross-references
right.
==========================

My modified script also had some strange, new stuff displayed in the
terminal,  something like this:

>>
stream
x}ˎ$޿"`R7FZ\i`#BJP%}cF2"F=hT;4ڛ~##[OBķo\#x^=wH|7Ǫw(xYowww{->ITPz
. . . . . .

(It went on like this a long way, displaying strange characters, ending
with this):

#aw)ϯ#}5ʹZXqjE.ܰz#=˂=_ne*<
keb>}s6a@/#y4r/զWX[
MٸA
endstream

It was as if Cairo was trying to write the svg to the screen.

Here's what both the original and modified scripts actually managed to
create:

Within my main folder, where the "myfile.dsp" file is located, a new
subfolder was created, called myfile-doc. That subfolder contained 5 of its
own subfolders, some empty and some populated, as follows:

The cpp subfolder:
EMPTY

The pdf subfolder:
EMPTY

Under the src subfolder:
myfile.dsp (a copy of the original.)

Under the svg subfolder:
A subfolder named "svg-01" containing a file named "process.svg" (Note that
the name was the generic "process," rather than the original "myfile.")

Under the tex subfolder:
myfile.aux
myfile.log
myfile.pdf
myfile.tex

The file myfile.cpp was added to my main folder next to the original dsp,
instead of being placed in the cpp folder.

The myfile.pdf in the tex sudfolder is the "maths" document, but is
defective. For instance, the internally referenced svg diagram, fig. 1, is
blank in the pdf. Also, question marks are placed -- seemingly arbitrarily
-- in several places.

I'm not sure if the pdf that was created is supposed to be in the pdf
subfolder or not. I had hoped that this script would also generate a full
pdf of just the svg, displaying all sub-nested diagrams. Perhaps such an
svg/pdf document is what is missing from the pdf folder?

Obviously some stuff is still broken here. Any hints as to how one should
proceed?
