Actually I was wrong ... there is one current commercial X11 server for
DOS ... X Appeal http://www.xtreme.it/xappeal.html

some of them may be available yet.

Actually DOSVNC would work ... VNC is a bit nicer than X in that it's
stateless.  You can disconnect from the server and later reconnect from
another system and the applications are as you left them.  The downside
is the protocol is less efficient than X, but from a Linux/Unix/*BSD
application view point you are running an X server.
