To Jim Hall,
My name is Joe Millard from Protocol Electronics. We talked about putting FreeDos on a FAT32 partition. Well it worked. It actually has been working for a while, but we did not know. After you format the hard drive for FAT32 file system and create a partition you can load the boot files and the new 2027 kernel the computer will boot up. The problem was that after entering the "dir" command the disk available space was still showing 2 gigs as your limit. But once we tried putting 3 gigs on material on the drive it still worked and showed 3 gigs used and 2 gigs available. We figure the command.com file could only report 2 gigs back, but regardless you can use the whole drive.
Now I said I would put together a walk through to help people, like me at the beginning of this project, easily set FreeDos up on a FAT32 partition. How would you like me to set that up and where should I send the walk through to?
Also we have one of our programmers here at Protocol looking at your FreeCom.com file. We are hoping to "fix" the file up to be able to see past the 2 gig barrier. Eventhough you can use and operate the entire disk space it would be nice to see how much room you have.
Thank You for all your help :)
