I have to admit I didn't try DUALMON.SYS yet. Unfortunately, the
VGA monitor in my only dual-monitor system is currently broken.

Good point. I should remember why names like EMMQXXX0 or $SECURE$
were invented. And why I used to always put CDRXXXX0 as CD-ROM
driver's name ;-)

Why odd? Equal-length names are not only nice, but sometimes
even useful, e.g., when you have to patch binaries.

Difficult decision. CONC/CONM is a bit more informative, but
CON1/CON2 allows to think about even more consoles (multiple
PCI VGAs? remote devices?)

Hmmm, I can't verify this easily now. I seem to remember that
DOS was loaded high, and DISPLAY's font tables were in HMA, but
I have to locate an old enough system diskette and try again.
(I knew very little about DISPLAY and fonts and that time, so
I can be wrong.)
