Isn't it always the case when you move a file from an encrypted volume to a non-encrypted? I believe software gives you the option of encrypting/decrypting/encrypting transparently though. Your best bet would be to copy the encrypted volume (some programs call it vault). For example, copy an entire truecrypt volume or en encrypted .dmg on Macintosh.
